¡á What is ZEN?

Zen has been originated from a Sanskrit word, dhyna, in India, taken to China as sun-na, and it popular as chan or Zen in the Buddhist circles all over the world.

Zen is an old term, however, few people know much about it.

In the case of a watermelon, we are not concerned with the logical description of its taste. Instead, we simply eat it and enjoy how it tastes.

This is the basic attitude of Zen.

Zen means different things to different people. One common meaning of Zen is silence or meditation.

Many of the people who practice Zen do so for their own intentions and purposes; to do well in a competitive sport; to have a better memory;   to anticipate meeting a mystic guru; to enjoy a calm state of mind; to experience a supernatural feeling; to get enlightenment.

The fundamental way of meditating does not involve getting something or achieving something. Correct meditation means meditating regardless of gain.

It is not getting something, it is doing nothing.

How can we meditate without a purpose? All purposes arise from our egocentric intentions for achieving something.

Everything changes in time and space. Rocks, trees, animals, clouds, air, the human body, even love, hope and hatred change. The Ego is also an ever-changing delusion. It is like a dream, an illusion, a bubble, a reflection, dew or lightning.

We live at the mercy of these delusions. This sort of life gives us only anger, joy, grief and pleasure in life. This is called karmic life, or karma.

Zen is to ¡°Put down, Empty and Throw away¡± whatever we had attached to our minds to. Through this process you will find True Self in absolute calmness is not an unconscious state of mind, but it is a highly conscious state of mind. The more often and the deeper you go  into the calmness, the more you will experience the calmness. The calmness in your mind is pure consciousness, pure potentiality itself. The source of all creation is pure consciousness.

We can make full use of the creativity inherent in pure consciousness,

pure potentiality. Anything we want can be created, because these are the same principles nature uses to create everything in the material world.

Zen make us Free and Eternal.
